SBIR and STTR programs represent one of the best funding pathways for small technology companies. But keeping track of new solicitations across dozens of agencies, each with their own release schedules and topic formats, is a full-time job in itself. Most small firms rely on a combination of manual checks, email alerts, and word of mouth, which means opportunities slip through the cracks regularly.

Today we're launching SBIR Auto-Pull, a feature that monitors SBIR.gov continuously and matches new solicitation topics against your company's capability profile. When a relevant topic is published, Basis creates a draft opportunity in your pipeline with the key details already extracted: agency, topic number, award ceiling, submission deadline, and a summary of the technical objectives.

The matching engine uses a combination of keyword analysis and semantic similarity against your past proposals and capability statements. You define your focus areas once, and the system refines its matching over time based on which opportunities you pursue. In our beta testing, customers found that Auto-Pull surfaced an average of three relevant topics per cycle that they would have otherwise missed.

SBIR Auto-Pull is available today for all Basis customers on the Growth plan and above. You can configure your capability profile and matching preferences from the Opportunities section in your dashboard. We've also published a guide with tips for getting the best results from the matching engine.
