Basis supports both cloud-hosted and self-hosted deployment models, including air-gapped environments for ITAR-controlled workloads. We need a Platform Engineer who can build and maintain the infrastructure that makes both paths seamless.

You'll own our CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and the tooling that lets customers deploy Basis in their own environments with minimal friction. Security and compliance are first-class concerns: our customers handle CUI and ITAR data, and our infrastructure needs to reflect that.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role. You'll be the first dedicated platform hire and will shape our infrastructure strategy from the ground up.

What you’ll do

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deploying the Basis platform
Manage Kubernetes clusters and Helm charts for both cloud-hosted and customer self-hosted deployments
Build and maintain Terraform modules for provisioning infrastructure across AWS and GovCloud
Create packaging and installation tooling for air-gapped and on-premise deployments
Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures using Prometheus, Grafana, and PagerDuty
Harden infrastructure to meet FedRAMP Moderate and CMMC Level 2 control requirements

What we’re looking for

5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in production
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform
Hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC) and ideally GovCloud
Understanding of security compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST 800-171)
Ability to work independently and make sound infrastructure decisions with minimal oversight
