Product Manager

Remote (US)Full-time$140,000 - $180,000

We're looking for a Product Manager to own the roadmap for Basis and drive the product from early traction to market leadership. You'll be the connective tissue between our customers, our engineering team, and our go-to-market strategy.

Basis serves a niche that's been underserved by generic tools: small-to-midsize government contractors who need to produce compliant, competitive cost proposals without a dedicated pricing department. You'll develop a deep understanding of their workflows and pain points, then translate that into a product strategy that wins.

This is a foundational PM role. You'll shape how we build, what we build, and how we talk about what we build.

What you’ll do

  • Own the product roadmap and prioritize features based on customer feedback, market analysis, and business goals
  • Conduct regular customer discovery interviews and translate insights into actionable product requirements
  • Write clear product specs and acceptance criteria that engineering can build against confidently
  • Partner with engineering leads on technical trade-offs, scope management, and sprint planning
  • Define and track product metrics to measure feature adoption, retention, and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop positioning, messaging, and competitive analysis

What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, preferably in enterprise or vertical software
  • Demonstrated ability to ship products from concept to launch with measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform prioritization decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for specs, presentations, and customer conversations
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in agile or iterative development environments
  • Ability to quickly learn complex domains and become a subject-matter resource for the team

Nice to have

  • Experience in government contracting, defense tech, or compliance-heavy industries
  • Background in cost estimation, financial modeling, or pricing tools
  • Familiarity with GovCon procurement processes (RFPs, task orders, IDIQs)
  • Experience with product-led growth strategies in enterprise contexts
